Performers

Pipes and Drums

A spectacle, before a note is played. The Pipes and Drums marching into the arena, playing well-known Scottish tunes will set the tone for the evening and show the gathered audience what is good about The Boys' Brigade and Pipe bands.

Bugles and Drums

For many, the traditional band of The Boys Brigade. The sound of the bugles and drums, is the sound of the Boys' Brigade that many of the audience will recognise and identify with.  The show will involve playing traditional tunes and showing off the marching capabilities of Boys' Brigade bands.

Anchor Boys' Display Item

The Adventure begins with this lot. A high-energy and enthusiastic, fun, fun, fun performance. The Boys will run, scream and shout, and show what fun can be had as a Boy in the Anchor Boys. A coördinated performance by Anchor Boys from all over the country.

BB Drill Display Team

What BB event would be complete without one of the foundations, Drill?  You either love it or loathe it, but there is no other greater team-building activity out there.  The show - and it will be a show - will be a truly spectacular item, showing the best of BB drill.

Junior Section Display Item

A display incorporating some typical Junior Section activities (perhaps some figure-marching, mime, songs or games?) and, showing that as they get older, the fun and learning doesn’t stop with the Anchor Boys.

Wind Band

The Musical programme starts to move towards the more modern by combining traditional and contemporary music, bringing The Brigade up to the present day. The marching wind band comprises brass, woodwind and marching percussion playing a selection of traditional and not-so traditional music on the move.

PT / Gymnastics Display Team

So much fun, so many sore muscles and bruises - and that’s only the Officers!  The PT & Gymnastics display will follow the physical training of the Boys during the last 125 years, showing some of the "in things", and what replaced them.  A fantastic opportunity to show coördination on a grand scale: vaulting, mat-work and exercises by Boys from all over the country.

Girls' Brigade Display Items

Our sister organisation will be on-hand to provide some colour and variety to the occasion. as they mark the 115th year of The Girls' Brigade.

As well as playing in the bands, the Girls will have opportunities to show a flavour of their activities.

Fifes & Drums

The stirring sound of Fifes & Drums: the original band of the Boys Brigade.  This performance shows off the musical and display-marching skills of today's youth.  A selection of tunes to whistle, to sing and join in. Tunes that you would not normally expect a fife and drum corps to play, but you will certainly remember the Boys Brigade version!

Massed Bands

What Tattoo would be complete without the Massed Bands?  The Fifes & Drums will be joined by the Wind Band, Drums & Bugles and the Pipes & Drums to show off what Brigade Bandsmen can do together.  We'll play a selection of traditional and well-known music before being joined on the Arena by the rest of the cast for the Finalé.

Parade of Colours

As part of the finalé, each Company and Battalion will have the opportunity to parade their unit colour in front of the entire audience. A ring of company colours around the arena will form a guard of honour for any old members who may wish to march onto the arena for the finalé.
